Does Heritage Commons provide health care?

Heritage Commons is an independent senior living community that works closely with residents and their families to arrange for aide or other care services through outside agencies, as required. You pay only for the assistance you need when you need it.

Are pets allowed?

Our senior living community welcomes resident pets if they are 40lbs or less. Visitors may also bring pets to visit Heritage Commons residents at any time.

Is a lease required?

Yes, residents sign a one-year, self-renewing lease for our senior apartments. However, you may cancel your lease on 60 days’ notice at any time.

How big is the Heritage Commons community?

At Heritage Commons, our four-story building houses 88 apartments, with some double occupancy. We are a lively and independent senior living community where neighbors quickly become friends. In addition to comfortable senior apartments, residents enjoy a wide range of senior living activities, shared amenities, and plenty of opportunities to connect with one another. From social events and group activities to simply sharing a meal, our senior living community is truly a community!

Is there a security deposit?

Yes, we require a security deposit equal to one month’s rent. Your security deposit is placed in an interest-producing bank account and you will receive an interest check from this account every year you reside at Heritage Commons.

Is there an additional charge for a second person living in an apartment?

Yes, couples in our senior apartments pay a $595 monthly surcharge which covers the cost of the second person’s meals and utilities usage.

May I have guests stay with me in my apartment?

Yes. Just let us know a few days in advance and we will provide you with a roll-away bed and linen.

What about building security?

Heritage Commons is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Residential hallways, service areas, and our parking lot and grounds are monitored with camera video system. All visitors must sign in and out. Exterior doors are locked at dusk and may be opened only by the Front Desk attendant. Our senior living apartments are protected by smoke detectors, sprinklers, and include an emergency call system. All hallways and common areas are equipped with smoke detectors, sprinklers, and automatic fire doors.

What does Heritage Commons do to get my apartment ready for me?

Your apartment will be thoroughly cleaned, painted, and renovated as needed which may include new carpeting and flooring.

Heritage Commons offers a diverse, extensive, and very enjoyable social and recreational program. We offer a variety of regular activities as well as outside events throughout Middletown, Meriden, Wallingford, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill, and Middlesex County, CT.

What is the pricing for your senior apartments?

At Heritage Commons, we strive to make independent senior living simple and hassle-free. Our senior apartments for rent are available in several styles and price ranges to suit different needs. Monthly rents start at $2,850 for a studio, $2,925 for a one-bedroom, $3,250 for a one-bedroom nook, $3,125 for a corner one-bedroom, and $3,720 for a spacious two-bedroom apartment. What is the DayTymers Club?

The DayTymers Club at Heritage Commons is a unique adult day program made for residents and seniors in the area who want engagement and companionship. Participants enjoy a variety of senior living activities in a supportive setting, boosting self-esteem and social connections. For families and caregivers, DayTymers Club offers flexibility and peace of mind, allowing them to attend to responsibilities while their loved ones are safe and active. Unlike other communities, our independent senior living campus welcomes DayTymers without requiring a residential commitment.
