Does Heritage Commons provide health care?

Heritage Commons is an independent living community which works closely with residents and their families to arrange for aide or other care services through outside agencies, as required. You pay only for the assistance you need when you need it.

Are pets allowed?

Resident pets are always welcome if they are 40lbs or less. Visitors may also bring pets to visit Heritage Commons residents at any time.

Is a lease required?

Yes, residents sign a one-year, self-renewing lease. However, you may cancel your lease on 60 days’ notice at any time.

How big is the Heritage Commons community?

We have 4 story building with 88 apartments, with some double occupancy.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes, we require a security deposit equal to one month’s rent. Your security deposit is placed in an interest-producing bank account and you will receive an interest check from this account every year you reside at Heritage Commons.

Is there an additional charge for a second person living in an apartment?

Yes, couples pay a $595 monthly surcharge which covers the cost of the second person’s meals and utilities usage.

May I have guests stay with me in my apartment?

Yes. Just let us know a few days in advance and we will provide you with a roll-away bed and linen.

What about building security?

Heritage Commons is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Residential hallways, service areas, and our parking lot and grounds are monitored with camera video system. All visitors must sign in and out. Exterior doors are locked at dusk and may be opened only by the Front Desk attendant. Apartments are protected by smoke detectors, sprinklers, and include an emergency call system. All hallways and common areas are equipped with smoke detectors, sprinklers, and automatic fire doors.

What does Heritage Commons do to get my apartment ready for me?

Your apartment will be thoroughly cleaned, painted, and renovated as needed which may include new carpeting and flooring.
